Our first morning in Costa Rica, we awoke to unfamiliarity. The sounds of the rainforest and the local farm animals had replaced the city traffic we're accustomed to. The 6 of us reconvened in the common dining area, counted the surprisingly few mosquito bites and loaded up on breakfast for the big day ahead of us.
We geared up with helmets and harnesses and waited for the rain to let up so we could ride to our zip line canopy tour.

Having had a traumatic horseback riding experience, Raquel, with much poise, overcame her fear that morning and saddled up like a good sport. It was either ride or hike thru the trenches to the canopy tour. That's the thing about being far from home. You have to make decisions whether or not to step outside your comfort zone. Your daily routine is put on hold and you can either stick to your guns or adjust to your new surroundings and just go with it.

Stay bitten ;)
