Block Island Bliss

Pulling up to Block Island on a beautiful day, I couldn't ask for a better change of scenery. An upgrade from my cubicle, the smells and the sound of the ocean made me ready to drop my bags and head to the beach straight from the ferry.

One quick stop. Have some snacks with my nephew.

We were both really excited for the beach.

Just down a small path from the house and we were there.

Feet in the sand, it felt like summer alright.

After the beach, we headed up the road from Hotel Manisses to the "zoo." In the back of the property of the hotel is the Abrams' Animal Farm. With a variety of exotic animals, we were able to spot camels, llamas and even a kangaroo. Who knew this even existed on Block Island?!

Even crazier, the one-eyed half horse, half zebra.

After our trip to the "zoo," we went for burgers and beers in town at Mohegan Cafe. Couldn't miss the sunset during dinner so we walked over to the Surf Hotel. This old victorian hotel is set to reopen in July. In the meantime, we ventured over to their deck and took in the view.

Stay bitten ;)
