On our last day, the sun came out and the weather was back to normal. It had been a great long weekend for all of us. This was the first time my family took our 1.5 year old puppy (yes, she's still a puppy to me) away from the comforts of her own home and neighborhood. And out of the group, I think she was going to have the hardest time leaving. Forget the ferry or the long car ride home, Sophie had left her paw prints on this place.
We would walk through town and with every step, someone else would stop to pet her or say hello. While purchasing a sweatshirt for my mom in a store, the cashier asked me where Sophie was. Really? So we nicknamed her Ms. Block Island 2012 because people seemed more excited to see her than Christopher Walken.
The remainder of the afternoon was spent shopping around. I made my last (of many) stops at Lazy Fish, a store that was reminiscent of Anthropologie and your favorite vintage furniture shop.
The local pottery shop caught my eye.
Thumbs up overall to the local shops of Block Island.
And to end the weekend, a bite of a New England lobster roll just before hopping on the ferry.
Stay bitten ;)
